Prefilter, HEPA filter, plus a carbon filter that removes harmful VOC's (volatile organic compounds like gases from household chemicals and synthetic materials). The first activated carbon filter takes out large particulates and some VOC's. The HEPA filter then removes 99.97% of particulates 0.3 microns and larger. The final 1/2” thick activated carbon filter gets rid of the more serious nasties like formaldehyde in new furniture and building materials, chemical and automobile exhause fumes.
Both Model 2500 nd 3000 have casters for easy moving. Based on two to four air change-overs per hour, Model 3000 cleans 400-850 square feet.
OPTIONAL VOC CANISTER VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) are gasses and chemicals that are emitted in your home from objects and products like: paints, household cleaning chemicals, furniture etc.
Carbon acts as a sponge to adsorb VOC's. The standard carbon blanket that comes with every Amaircare product is a very effective 'sponge', but with carbon, the more surface area there is, the more VOC's it can adsorb. So, the more carbon the better.
Amaircare provides an optional VOC Canister with all of it's Central Systems and most of it's Portable systems. The VOC Canister has a much larger surface area of carbon, so it's collection capacity is greatly increased. This makes the VOC Cartridge the filter of choice for situations where increased VOC. Removal is important.
There are 2 types of VOC Canisters. - 100% Carbon: All Carbon to remove most common chemicals and odours. - 40% Zeolite & 60% Carbon: A zeolite and carbon mix to broaden the range of chemicals and odours adsorbed by the VOC Canister.
