Imagine a featherweight, paperback novel size, full-featured diagnostic, digital audiometer with ergonomically designed switches, air conduction up to 120 dB, bone conduction with masking, and excellent quality speech audiometry running in your clinic connected to your PC.
Now visualize the same instrument pulled out of the backpack at a rural ear camp or health care clinic where a hundred or so villagers await hearing assessments. It can be powered by the internal 6 V motorcycle battery, a vehicle's 12 volt power socket, a 4 cell battery pack, or 110 or 220 VAC.
The audiometer can operate by itself or it can store into a computer (via the serial port). It can be driven by software as simple to use as Noah software. It can be easily calibrated to accept the optional TDH-39 headset.
