The Katadyn Siphon is simply lowered into a container filled with untreated water. The water will drip through the hose into a container at a lower elevation. The higher the elevation between the two containers the better the flow rate. This way you’ll get up to 5 liters / 1,3 gallons of safe drinking water per hour without pumping.
The Katadyn ceramic with a pore size of 0.2 micron that reliably holds back all pathogenic bacteria and protozoa such as: giardia, cryptosporidium, salmonella, amoebas, e-coli etc. With an easy single pumping mechanism water is turned immediately into safe drinking water, retaining its natural mineral content, without the need for boiling. The used ceramic element can easily be cleaned by brushing the surface with an abrasive pad. A measuring gauge is provided to check the minimum diameter of the ceramic element.
