Village Earth

Village Earth joins with NGOs and individuals to help connect rural villages (two-thirds of the world's population) to global resources including energy resources, information resources, hard and soft appropriate technologies, social resources and financial resources for self-reliant, sustainable village-based development. They work on the premise that lack of access to resources is the primary obstacle to building a better life, and that poverty is the symptom rather than cause of the problem. They maintain the approach that villagers themselves rather than an outside authority must decide priorities and offer trainings in the US and throughout the world. Village Earth and The Sustainable Village are Colorado neighbors and plan to work together to empower villages on a broad scale. www.villageearth.org
