Peace Initiatives
A
non-profit group focusing on resolving disputes among peoples and governments
for the promotion of peace, democracy and human rights and funding the
mediation work of Roger Plunk.
Now accepting donations for Roger's work for lasting peace in Afghanistan,
all donations are fully tax-deductible. Roger was recently invited to
provide mediation services to the Islamic State of Afghanistan and to
help in the general process of reconciliation. In 1998, Roger mediated
among the warring factions of Afghanistan and negotiated an agreement
for national reconciliation among nine leaders of the Northern Alliance.
He began his work in 1993 as a constitutional adviser to the Dalai Lama
and later became involved as a mediator in the issues of Tibet, Kashmir
Burma and Afghanistan.
Roger has an LL.M. in International & Comparative Law from the George
Washington University Law School and wrote a great book called The Wandering
Peacemaker chronicling his experiences as a mediator in Asia and integrating
his philosophy of international affairs with spirituality.
