Mission
The Corporation for Enterprise
Development promotes asset-building and economic opportunity strategies
-- primarily in low-income and distressed communities -- that bring together
community practice, public policy, and private markets in new and effective
ways.
Vision
The Corporation for Enterprise Development envisions widely shared, sustainable
economic well-being and an inclusive economy where everyone is fully engaged
and appropriately rewarded.
Goals
The Corporation for Enterprise Development works to:
- Create systems and incentives that encourage all Americans to acquire
and hold assets;
- Identify, preserve and build upon human, social, financial, and environmental
assets, especially in low-income communities; and
- Advocate for economic development policies and practices that build
an inclusive and dynamic economy.
Principles
As an organization, we:
- Value diversity in race, background, gender, and perspective in all
aspects of our work.
- Balance creativity with systems administration, and innovation with
profitability.
In the field and office, we:
- Listen carefully and communicate clearly.
- Meet our commitments in a timely, flexible, and high-quality manner.
- Recognize and appreciate our interdependence both within the broad
field of economic development and within our office.
In completing projects, we:
- Are innovative, responsive, and flexible.
- Take ownership and initiative in our work.
- Deliver quality analyses and products.
