Overview
The Center for the Management of Information (CMI)
is a research center in the University of Arizona's College of Business
and Public Administration. CMI focuses on the development and application
of technology and group processes to support collaborative work. This
research is supported by organizations with a common interest in the development
of new technologies, best practices, education/training, sharing of new
ideas, and insights on computer supported collaboration.
Mission
To explore collaborative concepts by developing, testing, and implementing
tools and methods to improve group outcomes.
Director Dr. Jay F. Nunamaker Jr. is widely known for his contribution
to the field as both an academician and an entrepreneur. He has published
hundreds of research articles, has authored several books, presented at
a variety of professional, academic, and government conferences and has
been the focus on numerous articles in business magazines including Fortune.
Dr. Nunamaker' s expertise is complimented by a number of experienced
researchers that comprise the CMI staff and affiliated center fellows.
The Sustainable Village is working with CMI to help redesign refugee camps
as ecologically sustainable settlements. For more information about this
